Taughannock Falls State Park is a very nice place to visit for whole family. It is one of New York State Park near Ithaca. Every summer Taughannock Fall gradually slows to a trickle. Especially the first time we visited in 2016, because of severe drought, Taughannock Fall is nearly invisible from Lookout point. The 3/4 mile creek bed to main fall is mostly dried out and its flat lime-stone creek bed is easily to walk on for all ages. (just be cautious and use your common sense) The geology of siltstone, sandstone, and easily eroded shale mix makes views from creek bed even more standout. If you are lucky, you will see a flock of eagles (roughly 20 some) on top of your head, just like we do. More details from Wiki and State website
Second visit in summer of 2020 during our NY state road trip. In summer there’s definitely a little more water on the trail.
