- two hours each for both Sunset Crater and Waputi is enough for major viewpoints.
- when taking Lava Flow trail, don’t miss lower route.
- parking lot at A’a trail fills up quickly.
- Loop Road between Sunset Crater Volcano and Wupatki is about 35 miles long but a nice scenic drive.
Wuptki
As the name suggests, it is the main pueblo in the park and right behind the visit center.
Wuloki Pueblo sits right on a big rock. It is small but very beautiful looking from far or closed.
Sunset Crater Volcano
The crater is quite occupied by pine tree. It is not easy to see the whole view of the crater.
A’a is an outlook with a very short trail. If no desire to walk on any other trail, try this one.
