Kolob Canyons & Cedar Break National Monument, Utah

Kolob Canyons locates northeast corner of Zion National Park, but has no direct road connection to main area within the park. To reach there, visitors circle outside the park in one hour driving which makes Kolob Canyons less known.

Kolob View Point

Its beauty along East Kolob Canyon Road is short but remarkable. Once you reach Kolob View Point, you can stretch your legs on Timber Creek Overlook Trail. On I-15 from Kolob Canyons to Bryce Canyon National Park, you can take a 30-mins detour to Cedar Break National Monument. It was a very good add-on in our day driving from Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon. Be aware that the road to Cedar Break National Monument is close in winter. Before you go, inquiry road condition at Kolob Canyons Visitor Center. Normally road to Cedar Break closes from November. Luckily the road still opened during our trip in first week of November. When you drive on scenic byway 12, before arriving Bryce Canyon, take a moment to enjoy Red Canyon along the road.
