Horseshoe Bend around 08:00 AM

To see the best of Horseshoe Bend, time before sunset will be the one. You need to arrive early not only to get a good photo spot but also to see the beauty while sun is still able to beam into canyon.  We arrived around 5:00PM and were minutes short of sunset time. From parking lot to Horseshoe Bend is another 10-mins walk. We rushed to the edge but river flow at bottom already turned dark. View is still good although not great. After sunset, sky turned dark pretty soon. We came back next morning to see Horseshoe Bend again before going to Antelope Canyon.

Antelope Canyon has lower and upper tours operating by different companies. Upper Antelope tour is a round-trip flat walk. Lower Antelope tour is one-way trip and requires climbing. If you can descend three story high staircases, you are good to go. My kids were age 7 and 9. They don’t have problem to enjoy lower canyon. The view in the narrow canyon is remarkable and rock pattern that water carves is stunning. A must-do in the area.
