Our first camping experience, a beautiful state park with lakes. The time we visited there was special ranger program at night to see the synchronous firefly (Photinus carolinus). The synchronous firefly can only be found in a few states (mostly in Great Smokey Mountain area). Info about synchronous firefly here. They were amazing to see, the closest way to describe them is they are like watching Christmas lights.
