Gettysburg National Military Park can be a one-day trip, but if you are into history, give it an overnight stay. Downtown isn’t big and a bit quiet with many stores closed in winter time, but the bleak scene of battlefields the town sits on gives you real depressing feelings. Inside the visitor center, “A New Birth of Freedom” firm, Gettysburg Cyclorama, and Gettysburg Museum of American Civil War are really outstanding. Don’t miss it out. Plan to spend 3 hours or more to understand the history in deep.
